My name is Joyce, and I like to identify with being a self-proclaimed bloomer. In my opinion, to bloom is the ability to thrive despite the challenging seasons in life. After being baptized at the start of my college career, the lifestyle of being a Christian has taught me to face challenges with a refined perspective. In view of this, I choose to be intentional about the goals I set for myself while remembering to embrace the process.

I’m a curly girl that takes pride in my kinky hair but dreads a much-needed washday (#TeamNatural). One of my favorite hobbies is exploring new coffee shops and bookstores in Chicago.

I’m originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, but moved to Gainesville after graduating high school in 2016. When I moved, I had to learn how to adapt to my surroundings; I missed the palm trees in South Florida and the fast-paced city! After a few months of being provided for by my parents, I had to earn a living, which hindered me from attending school full-time. Although it was tough balancing various responsibilities, these experiences have refined my character and built foundational insight. After 7 years of living in Gainesville, I moved to Chicago to prepare myself for my move to London for my master's degree in promotional media. I'm excited for the transition to the United Kingdom in August 2024, and I hope to document my life in living color.

My goal is to continue to embrace the blooming process in life by trusting the steps God has established for me. I hope this blog can inspire you to also bloom in-and-out of every season.
